About Dr. Celina

Hi, I’m Celina! I’m a mom to a little boy named Marley. I am also the founder and CEO of Trap Baby & Me.  I come from a family of musicians- my mother played piano and English horn, and my father played baritone with the FAMU Marching 100. I played clarinet, oboe, and tenor saxophone all throughout school. So when I had my son in 2021, it was only natural for me to play music for him and get his body moving to the beat. It was also important for me to seek out music that represents his culture.

We love programs like Gracie’s Corner and JoolsTV, which are great at filling a gap of diverse representation in this space. But I also wanted him to get the development that comes from playing instruments and engaging in social interaction. I looked for classes and events that blended these things, but couldn’t find exactly it. So, I decided to do something about it…Trap Baby & Me was born.

Interestingly enough, I come from a family of early childhood educators. My family used to own a daycare center, named FAM-CO Learning and Development Center, in Jacksonville, Florida. It was listed as one of the Top 10 daycare centers in the nation by Child Magazine in 1992.

When I’m not putting together amazing classes for you and your little one, you can find me teaching engineering students in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering at UCF.

I also love to dance

...and so does Marley
